Join your peers to explore best practices and proven membership strategies. Facilitated by Cathi Hight, the nation’s leading expert on membership, you will learn how to effectively communicate the value of membership, new approaches to developing tiered membership models, and how to develop a retention plan that gets results.

Communicate the Value of Membership (8:30 am - 10:30 am)

Members have different values, concerns, and reasons for joining and renewing. A “one-size-fits-all” approach to communicating your value is ineffective. Explore how to develop targeted value propositions that resonate with members and future members.

In this session, you will discover:

• The secret to communication that lies in the diversity of your membership base
• How members define the real value of investing in your organization
• A step-by-step process for developing compelling value propositions that make members renew and prospects say “Sign me up!”

A New Approach to Tiered Membership (10:45 am – 12:00 pm)

Our dues models don’t appeal to today’s members. With increasing demands to deliver ROI for members, we still fall short of providing benefits that really matter to members and prospects. This session explores how to evaluate your current benefits, common pitfalls in creating tiered models and how to leverage trends to develop innovative dues models that appeals to the next generation of members.

In this session, you will:

• Recognize how a Member Profile Matrix can help to create benefits that appeal to a diverse audience
• Discover common pitfalls used to design tiered membership models
• Explore innovative approaches to design your next membership model

Create a Retention Plan that Really Works (12:45 – 2:00 pm)

A retention plan is more than a collection plan. It’s an ongoing process to help understand your member base, the current and evolving needs of members, and how you can retain more of your best members. Discover the key components of an effective retention plan and what it takes to design one that really works.
In this session, you will:

• Identify what drives your retention outcomes
• Discover how to conduct a retention audit
• Explore the components of an effective retention plan
• How to leverage strategies to recruit, engage and renew more members
